Dinafem Seeds

The conservation system we use at DINAFEM is pioneer in the world of cannabis seeds. This is because when the company was first created in 2002 there was one thing we were very clear on: it was more than just possible to improve on the conservation system been used at the time. Back then, seeds were packaged in paper envelopes, aluminium paper or in transparent plastic containers. Paper does not protect seeds from getting crushed or wet; depending on the type of seal, transparent plastic containers do not keep the moisture out and never keep the light out so we created a crush-proof packing system. The seeds are put in an Eppendorf container, which is then placed in a metal box; the metal box keeps the light out. The second part of the design is the Eppendorf tube, a piece of standard lab equipment used to preserve liquid samples; the tube is closed with an airtight lid, which is what prompted us to choose this product.

The next improvement was the concept of micropreservation. To conserve cannabis seeds either a large container filled with thousands of units is used or a space is air-conditioned to conserve several different allotments. Conservation comprises two main aspects. 1. Temperature 2. Humidity. The temperature is easily controlled with refrigerators, which are generally used by both distributors and retailers for preserving seeds. The humidity is just as important, if not more so. It is harder to control and under goes significant variations as humidity decreases or increases considerably when going from cold to hot and vice versa.
